Logging in

You will need to log in to the Union to use many of our features and book events. To do so, click the blue 'Login to the Union' button beneath the right hand menu, above the photograph. Most people will then click 'Login with Raven'

We cannot find you in our database

This is a rare error, but occasionally we may be missing members in our databse. If this is happening to you, please email Victoria (victoria.zeitlyn@cus.org) with details of when you joined, what membership type, and your membership number.

Book a place at an event

To book a place, first make sure you're logged in. Next, go to the termcard and click on the event you'd like to book; if you're logged in you'll then be presented with options to book yourself and any guests places.

Find all the upcoming events and debates at the Union. Members can use this page to sign up for ticketed events or dinner with speakers. All debates, speakers, films and club nights are free for members. Freshers' week events are open to all students.

NB: some dates have changed from printed termcard so check carefully!

There is no need to book for debates, simply turn up! If you wish to book a place for dinner too, then you will need to book

An original debate on a topic not debated much at the Union Society. Calls into question future Higher Education funding and what may happen to future students at our university.

You must log in to book places (link at top right). You must book a place if you wish to attend a pre-debate dinner as places are limited but debates are open to all and are strictly first come first served


Booking does not guarantee a place; in the interests of fairness, places are allocated . Using the following method. Preference is given to those who have the hishest number of points. Points are awarded and removed using the following system:
  • 2 points will be added each time you fail to receive a place
  • 0 points will be added or removed if you apply for a place but cancel your request before places are allocated
  • 1 point will be removed if you receive a place but inform the Entertainments Officer you are unable to attend more than 24 hours before the event takes place
  • 2 points will be removed if you receive a place and attend the event
  • 5 points will be removed if you receive a place and fail to attend the event without giving the Entertainments Officer 24 hours notice
  • 10 points will be removed if you receive a place and fail to attend the event without giving the Entertainments Officer any notice

You will be notified by email in advance whether you have a place or not.
