The Mountbatten Room

The Mountbatten Room, named after the Earl Mountbatten of Burma, who was a member of the Standing Committee during his time in Cambridge. After returning victorious from Japan, where he commanded forces in the Second World War, he gifted to the Society a ceremonial samurai sword which hung on the wall for a number of years. The Room, which once functioned as a smoking room, is now a quiet room for members to read newspapers, converse and reflect.
