Dominique Strauss-Kahn tickets
Added 1 year 15 weeks agoWe anticipate a level of demand for places at the Dominique Strauss-Kahn speaker event on Friday 9th March which will exceed the available capacity of the Union building.
To ensure that all members have an equal chance of getting in, to minimize queueing times and to avoid having to turn members away, we will be issuing tickets to members through a randomized online ballot.
Members wishing to attend must login with their member account and submit an online application for a ticket between 8pm on Monday 5th March and 12am on Wednesday 7th March. The application page is here, and is available only to authenticated Union members.
When applications close, randomly selected applicants will be assigned tickets. If your application is selected for a ticket, we will send you an email on Thursday 8th March notifying you that you have a reserved place either in the debating chamber or in one of our overflow rooms.
Please note that only users with an active Union membership associated with their account will be able to enter the ballot, so make sure you login with the correct details. Your username is either the username you chose when you joined the society, or the email address where we send weekly emails.
If you have forgotten your password, you can request a new one automatically. If you have any problems logging in, please email your name and college and description of the problem to Sam Haskell, development@cus.org.
Each member is entitled to apply for a single ticket. Only members with tickets will be allowed entry. Membership cards will be required in addition to the ticket on entry.

Freshers' Cup 2011
Added 1 year 28 weeks ago
Last week, the Cambridge Union Society held the Grand Final of its newly instituted Freshers' Cup. Over the previous three weeks, thirty teams of first year debaters battled it out to try to win the title. The quality of all debates was high, but our congratulations must go to Emily Fernandes and Freddy Powell who triumphed and won the whole competition.
